From The Harvest · A practice taking shape

A wall, a question,
a letter.

Some ideas need somewhere to sit for a while. At The Harvest, we want to make room for photographs, handwritten notes, music and questions we haven't answered yet.

We'll arrange them on a pinboard, talk about what we notice, and try things. Some will become letters. Others might become an artwork, a small experiment or a conversation worth returning to.

The Harvest, Witta, on Jinibara Country. We'll add photographs of the wall as the practice develops.

Start with something
you noticed.

A sentence on a card. A printed photograph. A question from someone visiting. An unfinished page you're not sure what to do with.

The arrangement can change. "But then", "because of that" and "what if" might help us find a connection. They're prompts to play with, not a formula for finishing a story.

We'll photograph the wall over time, keep handwritten originals alongside checked transcriptions, and come back to record what happened when an idea was tried.

Notice

Bring a photograph, a fragment, a question or a piece of music.

Move things around

Read it together. Make an unexpected connection. Leave room for another person's view.

Try something

Make a small experiment, write a longer letter, or invite someone into the work.

Your contribution.
Your choice.

Families, young people, visitors and artists can take part. You can keep a contribution in the room. Sharing it online is a separate choice, including how you are named and credited.

A reply to a letter won't automatically become public material. We'll ask before bringing it onto the wall, and ask about any wider use. You can ask us to change or remove a contribution by emailing hi@act.place.

Empathy Ledger is where we're building the writing and story records. Eagle helps us find the photographs and films. The aim is to keep the original, the edited piece and the people behind it connected.

Small notes. Longer stories.

Daily writing starts in Empathy Ledger: a sentence, a question, a photograph or a film. The notes stay private while they take shape. We can return to them, find a connection and develop a longer piece without starting again.

Eagle holds the media library. Empathy Ledger keeps the writing beside its media, credits and sharing choices. Selected notes and finished pieces can appear here from those records. Saving a note does not publish it.

Letters from here

"Letters from The Harvest" is a working title. A letter might take six paragraphs or several pages. It can follow something emerging on the wall, answer a reader's question, share music or invite an experiment.
